I’m proud to announce my new lure, the Banshee from Livingston Lures. The Banshee is a true hybrid crankbait designed to blur the lines between multiple lure categories. Built specifically for muskie anglers, it combines the strengths of a crankbait, jerkbait, and glide style presentation into one highly versatile tool.
At first glance, the Banshee looks like a traditional crankbait, but it was engineered to do far more than a simple cast and retrieve. The goal behind the design was to give anglers a single bait that could cover multiple techniques without constantly changing lures.
At its core, the Banshee is a suspending style bait built around a death pause. When you stop working the lure, it settles in place and rises extremely slowly. This controlled rise keeps the bait in the strike zone longer and gives following muskies the extra moment they often need to commit.
Because of that fixed rate of rise, the Banshee can be worked with short rod snaps and slight slack line to create a left to right glide bait style action. Downward rod taps allow the lure to dance side to side while maintaining depth control, giving anglers glide bait movement in a much more controlled and user friendly package.
A key part of the design is the Banshee’s variable weighting system. Removable weight in the belly allows anglers to adjust the rise rate. With the weight removed, the bait rises faster like a traditional crankbait. With the weight installed, it behaves more like a suspending jerkbait, allowing anglers to fine tune the presentation to conditions and fishing style.
The Banshee also excels in a rip stop presentation. Its aggressive lip is built to handle force, allowing anglers to rip the bait hard and then pause it. During that death pause, the lure either suspends or rises slowly, creating a powerful reaction trigger that consistently produces muskie strikes.
Even with all of its advanced capabilities, the Banshee remains simple to fish. On a straight retrieve it delivers a wide, aggressive wobble that moves serious water. It can be cast, trolled, ripped, paused, or worked like a glide bait, making it one of the most versatile muskie hard baits I have ever designed.
The Banshee was created to give muskie anglers more options on the water. Whether you want to rip it like a jerkbait, glide it side to side, or simply crank it back with a heavy wobble, the bait adapts to the way you fish.
For serious muskie anglers, that versatility translates directly into more control, more confidence, and more fish in the net.
Cheers,
